Gigi’s Italian Restaurant “Mangia bene, ridi spesso, ama molto”

As you all know, OnTheQT recently spent time last week near Edinburgh in Scotland. We decided to go a little bit outside the main city centre and we went off the beaten track a little to show you guys the gems that surround the wonderful city of Edinburgh. In Bonnyrigg, a small town about 20 minutes outside Edinburgh, lies the most amazing family run, Italian restaurant who serve exquisite and authentic Italian cuisine. Trust us, it is one of the nicest Italian restaurants we have come across and we can honestly say the Carbonara was the most delicious Carbonara we have ever tasted.

As soon as we arrived in the door, we were greeted by the friendly, welcoming staff who straight away made you feel right at home. The place was buzzing with people enjoying their dishes with family and friends. We noticed that people seemed to be regulars which showed us Gigi’s was a popular local spot and when you are visiting, the local spots are always the best. The local’s know the best places to eat, party and even explore.

The combination of their amazing pizza, pastas, seafood and grill, along with their casual atmosphere makes this spot one of the best Italian restaurants we have ever dined in. It is family friendly and a great spot to meet with friends, while also catering for a romantic date for two. Our meal was gorgeous and we would highly recommend it to anyone. (QT TIP: The Carbonara is one of the nicest dishes we have every tasted!)
