20 Unique Places To Stay In Ireland

Ireland is full of unique places to stay and we have decided to compile a list of 20 unique finds for you to add to your staycation bucket list. 1) Chléire Haven

This gem nestled away in South West Cork. Cape Clear island, (Oileán Chléire) is the southernmost inhabited part of Ireland. It has a population of just over 100 people, and is an official Gaeltacht area. Chléire Haven campsite overlooks the glittering bay which is truly spectacular. You can simply get the ferry from Baltimore which takes about 45 minutes and the island awaits you.

Enjoy the magical island with one of their Mongolian yurts as your accommodation. Cosy, comfortable and warm which allows for glamping at its best. Just look at that view – what more could you want?

2) The Boat House

This boathouse gem is a romantic getaway which is located on the peaceful, calm waterfront of the River Blackwater. Offering peace, tranquility and a very unique natural environment on the River Blackwater. A little piece of heaven.

3) Alpaca Farm Lodge

Now this is not an experience you will have everyday! Stay in a beautifully renovated stone cottage on an idyllic Alpaca farm. This gem is locataed in the foothill of the Slieve Bloom mountains. You can enjoy this two bedroom gem which has a touch of old cottage vibes with modern finishings.

This lodge is located in a peaceful corner of a working Alpaca Stud Farm. You can enjoy getting to know the Alpacas, while also enjoying the peace and quiet on the farm. A one of a kind experience.

4) Ardmore Glamping Pods

Located in the seaside village of Ardmore Co. Waterford is a little hidden accommodation gem called Ardmore Glamping Pods. Six luxury glamping pods which are the perfect retreat for a couple or even a family as the pods can cater for up to 5 people. Situated on the grounds of the extremely popular Ardmore Open Farm and Mini Zoo so your neighbours are the meerkats, lemurs and even a lynx cat now.

This gem is surrounded by stunning sea views and overlooks the breathtaking Whiting Bay. Ardmore is one of my favourite places in the world and the beaches nearby the Ardmore Glamping Pods are some of the best in the world from Whiting Bay, Goats Island, Ardmore beach, the Curragh beach and my ultimate favourite Ballyquin Beach. You also have the picturesque Cliff Walk nearby to enjoy during your visit. The perfect spot for a break away by the seaside.

5) Birds Nest on the Dingle Peninsula

This gem is located right on the Dingle Peninsula with the most spectacular views. It reminds you of a birds nest right on the top of the sea. This little hut is surrounded by the sea and nature and is the perfect place to relax, unwind and switch off from the world.

6) Teapot Lane, Co Sligo

Teapot Lane is a unique glamping gem in Castlegal, Sligo. The perfect place for a getaway as a couple or a fun getaway with a bunch of friends. What I love about this gem is that you have the option of staying in a luxurious treehouse, a vintage caravan, a quirky yurt or even a cosy cottage. You are also within 10 minutes drive from beautiful beaches such as Mullaghmore so you can pop for a swim, a walk or even a surf if your feeling adventurous.

8) A Lakeside Yurt

If you are looking for something a little unique, then this one of a kind, hand crafted lakeside yurt is for you. This gem is a custom-built wooden yurt which is located four miles from Athlone town, beside Lough Ree.

If you are looking for a bit of luxury in the woods, Dromquinna Manor is for you. Their tents are very unique and custom made by a safari tent expert in India. Everything about this gem screams luxury.

This glamping gem has the most beautiful coastal setting in the North of Donegal. You can stay in their cosy yurts on your king sized bed and even enjoy a wood burning stove. The village of Portsalon has a spectacular 3 mile long blue flag sandy beach. A peaceful and secluded area for you to switch off from the hustle and bustle of life.

A peaceful retreat just 10 minutes from Gorey. 19) The Birdbox

I think this gem has to be on of the most unique places to stay in Ireland. The Birdbox in Donegal. The Birdbox is a cosy, handcrafted treehouse and it is nestled in the branches of beautiful mature oak and scots pine trees. As you look out the front you have spectacular views towards Glenveagh National Park. If you are looking for a unique and fun, yet peaceful getaway, this is the gem for you.

The layout is pretty cool. Measuring approximately 3.5 x 2.3 metres on the ground floor. It then has a 30 metre walk along a stepped wooden walkway as you go through mature trees to the decking area of the treehouse and the last five meters is accessed by a rope bridge. 20) The Doll's House - Rathaspeck Manor

If you are looking for a getaway that is like a fairytale, this Doll's House is for you, located in beautiful Wexford. The colourful and playful nature of the house is seen throughout and the personality of the Doll's House is reflected all over the house. The attention to detail with carefully selected treasures can been seen in every nook and cranny of the house.
