While in Chicago, a great way to see the city is on the water. Recently while in Chicago, we did a river and lake cruise. It was the first thing we did when we arrived in Chicago and it was a great way to start the adventure. It allows you to get your bearings and you get to see the buildings, architecture and beauty of the windy city from the water. It was a great way to learn about the city and get a feel for Chicago life.
There are many different types of boat trips you can take; River Tours, River and lake Tours, Architecture Tours, Speedboat Tours. All the tours are different prices but they start at about $25pp
Architecture Tour: The Architecture tours allows you to examine the buildings and design. Chicago is the birthplace of modern American architecture so what better way to see the architectural gems of the Chicago skyline then on a boat.
Water Taxis are a great idea if you don’t have time to do a full tour. A great way to see the city from the water if you are on a budget. You can get from one side of the city to the other on a water taxi. (You can get one at the Michigan Ave Bridge, Navy Pier, Museum Campus or Willis Tower).
Yacht: Sail the seas on a tall ship on Lake Michigan. You only live once so what not have an adventure to remember. A good time to do a sail like this is just before sunset. You will get to see the skyline by day as you set sail out and you might even get a beautiful sunset as your sailing back in.
Speedboat Tours – Do you think you might get board on a boat for ages… how about you go on a speedboat tour? Give yourself a thrill by getting a speedboat tour. This is for the adventurous person.
Sightseeing River and Lake Tour: Professional tour guides. You get to take in the beautiful Chicago skyline views and learn a little about the history and facts of this wonderful city.
