Episode 4 ‘Midleton’ Ring of Cork Travel Series

Welcome back to the Ring of Cork travel series. In this episode we are checking out another family favourite at Leahy’s Open Farm and exploring what Midleton has to offer. Our first stop was  Leahy’s Open Farm. Leahy’s open farm is located in Dungourney, just 10 minutes from Midleton itself. We decided to do something a little different and went to their Ice cream and chocolate factory to make our own tasty treats. We make our own chocolates, lollipops and decorated our own sheep.  Afterwards we got to taste our creations and it was a little piece of heaven! Delicious.

Next up was to explore the farm. We took a walk around the farm, experienced the famous pig run, tried our hand at operating a digger and no open farm would be complete without a trip to the petting area. I soon found out my fear of the snakes!!

Next up was to walk around the pretty town of Midleton. There are so many beautiful boutiques and the perfect place for a spot of shopping. Midleton is known as a market town and you can explore their farmers market every Saturday morning. We also went for a walk in Ballyannan Wood. You can walk easily to this wood from Midleton and it is a perfect place to explore and go on a walk.

What a great day of adventures. That’s it for this week’s episode. Join us next week when it’s all about relaxation. We will be starting the day in the beautiful Fota House & Gardens and ending the day relaxing in the Robin Hill Sanctuary.  See you then.

We are delighted to collaborate and work with Ring of Cork on the post and series. #AD
