Episode 3: Verona & Lake Garda

We recently booked a trip to Italy with our friends at Heffernan’s Travel. While in Italy, we went on a day trip to Verona and Lake Garda. The first stop was to explore the metropolitan city of Verona. Verona is a city in northern Italy’s Veneto region. A medieval old town which is famous for being the setting of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet. Our first stop was the The Verona Arena – a Roman amphitheatre in Piazza Bra in Verona, Italy built in the first century. It is still in use today as it currently hosts concerts and large-scale opera performances. We then went to explore the narrow streets lined with impressive medieval and Renaissance buildings in Verona’s historic center.

Of course, we had to explore Juliet’s Balcony overlooking a courtyard which is said to be Juliet’s house. This has becomes the point of interest for lovers of Shakespeare.

Our next stop was to head to Lake Garda, we stopped off in the charming town of Sirmione. The pretty town located on the southern shore of Lake Garda with its its most striking feature being the moated castle. The town’s narrow medieval streets are filled with vibrant color and life

Until the next adventure, Chao
