Our Wild Atlantic Way Adventure – Series 2 Day 3!

We woke up bright and early after a wonderful night sleep, and ready for day 3 of our Wild Atlantic Way adventure! We couldn’t wait to see what the day had in store for us!

Ocean Scene Surf School: Rightly so, whilst staying in Lahinch our first activity for the day was surfing at Ocean Scene surf school! We quickly dressed into our thermal wetsuits and we were ready to hit the water with our friendly instructor Ollie! Under his excellence guidance we even managed to stand up! #yippee! We couldn’t believe we got to use the sauna and the jacuzzi at the leisure centre after surfing… what an excellent service! We were most certainly ready for the day ahead! (www.oceanscene.ie)

Although we love to explore off the beaten track… we do appreciate sheer beauty, and so we couldn’t possibly not take a trip to the stunning cliffs of Moher! Although a little windy… we were sure to capture a selfie!

Doolin Cafe: With our appetites growing it was time to find somewhere nice to eat! We took a trip to a true local gem, the Doolin cafe! With a cosy interior, idioms hanging on the walls, a library bursting with books and delicious home made treats.. we were delighted with our choice! (http://www.thedoolincafe.com/)

Doolin Caves: Next up on our adventure was a trip to the Doolin Caves! We traveled underground to visit the Great Stalactite. At 7.3 metres this  is the longest free-hanging stalactite in the Northern Hemisphere! It was simply spectacular! With a mini farm, pottery,  beautiful gardens and a delicious cafe… the caves are most certainly worth a visit! (http://doolincave.ie/)

We were fascinated as we drove through the Burren landscape… it was amazing to have such an unusual landscape all around us!

Hylands Burren Hotel: We stopped into the family run Hylands Burren hotel for a bite to eat before continuing on! Here we were welcomed with open arms, before being served up some freshly caught seafood! Only recently re-opened right in the centre of the town with a fabulous decor, extensive menu and very reasonable prices we had a wonderful trip here! (www.Hylandsburren.com).

Hotel Meyrick: After a long day we were only delighted to arrive into Galway city centre where we checked into Hotel Meyrick for the night! It genuinely felt as though we had walked right into a life-size dolls house! The interior design was simply gorgeous! We were treated like royalty as we had our car parked for us, and our bags carried to our rooms! We excitedly got ready for our dinner downstairs which was delicious, and followed by a gin-tasting session! What an enjoyable evening! (www.hotelmeyrick.ie)

We collapsed into our bed dreaming about our day full of adventure! Until tomorrow! Night x
