Our Wild Atlantic Way Adventure – Series 2 – Day Two!

After a fabulous nights sleep we were ready for day two of our Wild Atlantic Way adventure – although we like to have activities planned, we often find the best fun happens when you have no plans at all! We couldn’t wait to see what the day had in store for us!

Ballyroe Heights Hotel: We were so lucky to wake up in the beautiful Ballyroe Heights Hotel! With its lush décor, elegant touches and extremely friendly staff, we really felt like we were on our holidays! We headed up to the breakfast room to fuel ourselves up for the day ahead! The view of the surrounding mountains and lush green countryside was simply stunning! You couldn’t ask for a more idyllic breakfast location! #stunning (www.ballyroe.com)

Collins Seaweed Bath: What better activity to start our day with a a trip to Collins Seaweed baths on ladies beach! These baths have most certainly stood the test of time having been in operation for the past 85 years! The hot baths are an excellent way to ease aches and pains and boost your general wellbeing. I couldn’t wait to try one out! I most certainly felt rejuvenated, relaxed and moisturised afterwards!

Shannon Ferries: Here at OnTheQT we always love to do things a little differently! Of course we could have driven from Kerry to Clare along the WAW route… but why drive when you could get the ferry with Shannon Ferries and enjoy a wonderful crossing across the Atlantic Ocean! With frequent services, reasonable prices, and a very enjoyable experience, it’s a no brainer! (http://www.shannonferries.com/)

Byrnes Restaurant: With our bellies beginning to grumble after an exciting day of exploring Co. Clare, it was time for a bite to eat! We stopped off at the family run Byrnes restaurant in Ennistymon –  a true local gem! With beautiful paintings from local artists hanging across the 4 walls, trendy décor, and a delicious menu to choose from, we most certainly knew we had made a good choice! Lahinch Golf & Leisure Hotel: After an action packed day we headed to the beautiful Lahinch Golf & Leisure Hotel to check in for the night! Right in the centre of the town we couldn’t have asked for a better location! We treated ourselves with a trip to the swimming pool, sauna and Jacuzzi… the perfect way to relax and unwind! Look forward to seeing what day three of our Wild Atlantic Way adventure will entail! Good night! x
