It’s always a good idea to say yes to new adventures…and that is exactly what we’ve been doing as we travel along the stunning Wild Atlantic Way on the Western coast of Ireland! Although a beautiful road trip, we’re all about finding activities, adventures and fun things to do along the route and so we were delighted when we took a pit stop at Tralee Bay Wetlands , just a few minutes drive from the centre of Tralee town!
Tralee Bay Wetlands is a watersports & rock climbing centre with a wildlife exhibition and a nature boat trip! From rock climbing to pedal boating.. and even zorbing, we were willing to try everything out! I particularly liked rock climbing as the instructor was extremely helpful and it was such an accomplishment to get to the top of the frame! The centre run rock climbing summer camps which sound cool! Zorbing was also great fun.. and such a unique experience!
Next up we headed into the state-of-the-art nature exhibition that tells the story of the natural heritage of the town! Equipped with interactive touch screens, high definition video, interactive maps and aquatic tanks you’ll be sure to be kept well entertained! We then hopped on the safari nature boat tour where we got to see real life versions of what we had just learnt about at the exhibition! Such an excellent idea!, with some beautiful wildlife to be found.. it was as if we were deep into the countryside!
The centre also has a café and gift shop, so even if its the kids participating in all the fun stuff.. the parents wont be bored either! Before you leave I highly recommend taking a trip to the top of the observation tower which has stunning views over the entire wetlamds, the surrounding town and the mountains in the distance!
Not just a fun trip for all the family, an educational one too! Hope you enjoy your time there! x
