Here at OnTheQT we love nothing more than going on water adventures, and so we were only delighted to take a visit to Star Outdoors, situated along the Wild Atlantic Way in Kenmare Co. Kerry! A centre that has it all and more.. the perfect day out for all the family!
We parked the car (in the free car parking area across the road) and couldn’t wait to hop out of the car to admire the views! The mountains against the Atlantic Ocean were simply stunning! It almost felt as though it was a backdrop for a movie set!
We walked over to the centre where we were greeted by the friendly and enthusiastic instructors! With a wide range of activities to choose from we were really and truly spoilt for choice! Paintballing, obstacle courses, wake boarding, archery, banana boating, kayaking… you name it they’ve got it!
We began our morning of adventure with a spot of archery! Although we were under excellent instruction and guidance… I’m not sure it was our finest talent in life! We missed again and again, but most definitely had a great time laughing at ourselves!
It was time to hit the water where we tested our skills at pedal boating – once we learnt how to move in sync, we were flying along! The scenery really was beautiful – a 360 degree view! We pedalled out as far as the water trampoline where we laughed and laughed at each other as we tried to stand up and bounce without falling over… or falling into the sea!
It was time for a real adventure when we hopped aboard the banana boat! I almost lost my voice from screaming! We sped along, turning left, then suddenly right… then left again… until we eventually all came stumbling into the water! It was super fun, such an adrenaline rush!
Our time at Star Outdoors was most certainly a morning well spent.. after hot showers at the centre, it was time to hit the road again! With cruise trips and paintballing also available, along with multi-activity packages and hen/stag party packages, there is most certainly something for everyone at Star Outdoors!
