Whilst recently on our Wild Atlantic Way road trip we came across some of the prettiest parts of Ireland! It’s true what they say.. you should look at your own home through a tourists eyes… and you’ll be sure to fall in love with what was always right on your door step!
Although we drove down many beautiful roads and stopped to take more photos than I can even remember, one particular stretch of road that stands out in my memory from series 1 is the road from Glengariff down into Kenmare! Full of twists and turns, over mountains and under tunnels… even a little scary at times it was amazing to travel! Known as the Caha Pass, with an abundance of flora, fauna and scenery on eitherside…it is most definitely worth incorporating into your road trip!
Kenmare itself is a great town to spend the night! We checked into a lovey guesthouse just outside the town called the Limestone B & B – I highly recommend staying with this lovely local lady who turned out to be an expert lace maker! We were fascinated as she showed us how to make lace as she showed us around her beautiful house!
With live music to be found every night of the week, and delicious restaurants serving local food, you will be sure to enjoy your stay! x
