On Sunday, we decided to go out for dinner – a Sunday treat. We didn’t feel like going into Cork city so instead went in search of a gem outside of the city. We came across the Elm tree in Glounthaune, just 5-10 minutes outside Cork City. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by their sophisticated, spacious and contemporary setting, along with their friendly staff. What we loved about it was there was a complete mixture of people – families, couples and friends all enjoying their meals.
Sometimes you just need to step outside the city centre to find the real local spots and that is exactly what we did. We knew straight away it was going to be good when we say the place full of local people. The locals always know best. The menu was full of choice and something to suit everybody – roast beef, fish, homemade burgers, curry and much more. We went for the burger and traditional fish and chips. Both were delicious and so tasty. It really was a nice wholesome meal and just what we needed.
