OnTheQT’s First Birthday!

We did it! Today we are one year in business and we couldnt have done it without each and everyone of you. It is hard to believe that OnTheQT is 1 year old TODAY! Where did the year go? It just seems like yesterday we had our launch party in the Woodford in Cork.

We have come so far in such a small space of time. We have loads of videos and blogs throughout Ireland and we have even reached a worldwide platform on year one with blogs throughout Europe, America and Australia. We spend our weeks traveling, blogging and filming Ireland and abroad, including Edinburgh, UK, USA, Tenerife and much more. We are a busy little team!

We have wonderful bloggers worldwide sharing their adventures. Bloggers throughout Ireland who have shared their local gems, while also having bloggers worldwide sharing their gems. We are delighted to be adding to the team week by week. We have two bloggers confirmed this week – one blogger in Christchurch and one in Southern California. We look forward to hearing all about their gems. We also have some amazing bloggers in each and every one of you. You all have uploaded your gems and shared your adventures with us and for that, we are truly grateful. Some of our favourite snaps from bloggers at home and abroad.

We have been working hard, it’s a 24/7 job but if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. Stephanie has been given the nickname ‘Princess of PR’ and there is a reason for that. This year we have been featured in many papers – Irish Independent, Examiner, Echo and even most recently the Tatler Magazine. Our highlight was appearing on The Morning Show on TV3 and 2fm. The reason this stands out is that is proves the demand for a website featuring local gems. Following our chats on tv and radio, we got 160 people every 10 seconds to the site, proving to us that people love to share their local gems and find local gems…And that is exactly what we do!

OnTheQT was part of Ignite 2012/2013 and we are truly grateful for all the advice and mentoring it has given us. Our motto at OnTheQT is to try everything and never be afraid to fail. Therefore, we applied for lots of awards this year. We reached the final of the Irish Funds Business plan competition, semi final of Cork Innovates and we were delighted to reach the final in two categories for the Blog Awards Ireland. What we  learned is that it is not in the winning of these awards but in the learning throughout the process. Putting the time into thinking about your business, gaining advice from key entrepreneurs and learning throughout the process. We are delighted to be one of 10 businesses taking part in Cork Bic Entrepreneur Experience this year and looking forward to the weekend in Castlemartyr learning more and improving OnTheQT for you.

We would just like to thank everybody for your support, encouragement, business and most of all for sharing your adventures with us. You are what makes OnTheQT great. We have met some amazing people and had the most amazing adventures of a lifetime… and the adventures are only beginning. Thank you to all our mentors the past year including Anne Moore, Johnny Walker, Eamon Curtin and a 24/7 mentor Pat Lynch.

In true OnTheQT style… we will be celebrating our first year with a video. While editing this video, it allowed us think back on a great year, great customers and the amazing adventures we had. You dont realise how far you have come until you take a step back and look.
