Exploring Boston/Providence with Norwegian

It has been a great year with the launch of the first transatlantic flight from Cork Airport to Boston Providence (TF Green Airport) with Norwegian, and what a year it has been. Since its launch in July 2017, it has proved a successful and popular route for both American and Irish leisure and business travellers.

Providence is known for its exceptional food and compelling architecture. Holiday makers can travel there to take it easy, enjoy exquisite meals and soak up the New England charm. For those who enjoy a bit of retail therapy, Wrentham Village Premium Outlets is located just 50 kilometres from the airport and features over 170 exciting brand name stores in one location. Only an hour from TF Green Airport is the beautiful city of Boston. With countless of sights to see, foods to eat and activities to do, Boston offers all the benefits of a big metropolis without the intensity of a huge city. However, if intensity is what you are looking for, New York is just a train-ride away.

Stepping off the plane at TF Green Airport, you can also conveniently travel to the nearby summer islands of Martha’s Vineyard, which plays host to vacationing presidents and celebrities, and Nantucket. These stunning holiday getaways have beautiful beaches, thriving towns, and excellent dining and shopping options. Be sure to try a whale watching trip for the chance to see Humpback, Finback and Minke whales. Alternatively, head to Cape Cod, featuring sandy beaches, architectural gems, and culinary delights. Explore the natural attraction that is the coastal dunes at Provincetown and glimpse the dune shacks, where Tennessee Williams penned A Streetcar Named Desire.

Cork Airport’s Managing Director, Niall MacCarthy said: “What a fantastic year it has been for Cork USA connections. Norwegian’s Cork to Boston Providence route has proved popular for both leisure and business travellers. It offers affordable transatlantic travel between the south of Ireland and North America, and a fantastic opportunity for people to experience the culture, landscape, shopping, and dining that Boston Providence, and its surrounding cities and towns, have to offer.”

We are delighted to collaborate with Cork Airport on the post.
