On The QT

Our Wild Atlantic Way Adventure!

As you may have noticed, the OnTheQT crew took off on an adventure along the Wild Atlantic Way last week! Although it’s great fun to hop on a plane and explore exotic places half way across the world… more often than not we forget to explore what’s right in front of us.. and so that’s exactly what we did! We picked up our car from Europcar and headed on our road trip along the Wild Atlantic Way.

We started early on Monday morning and headed to the very start of the Wild Atlantic Way which is the Old Head of Kinsale in Co. Cork! From there, we headed through Timoleague into Clonakilty and further west down to Baltimore! We even ventured out onto Cape Clear an island off the coast of West Cork!

After a lovely nights sleep, we explored Baltimore and all it had to offer on Tuesday morning before following the Atlantic Way through Bantry and onto Glengarrif – a beautiful region of West Cork! Here we hopped on a ferry out to Garnish island.. such beautiful gardens! That evening we travelled over the stunning Caha pass and tunnels to arrive in Kenmare for a delicious dinner and some Irish music!

On Wednesday we tried out a few different water sports whilst driving down into South Kerry through Derrynane, Caherdaniel over Coomakista and onto Waterville where we stayed alongside the ocean for the night!

On Thursday we made our way to Ballinskelligs, through Cromane, onto Killorglin and eventually arrived at the stunning Inch beach where we had a great time driving along the beach.. the perfect end to a busy day!

Our last day before returning home we headed even further west to Dingle where we went swimming with Fungie, drove over Slea Head, had a pit-stop in Ventry before driving over the Conor Pass onto Castlegregory and Tralee!

We ate delicious seafood, found amazing cafes, met wonderful people, discovered parts of Cork and Kerry I never even knew existed (even having grown up in Cork!), tried new activities, and most of all had a super time! We can’t wait to share all our adventures through blogs, vlogs and videos over the next few weeks! We’ll be taking off on the next leg of the Wild Atlantic Way from Tralee onwards in a few weeks.. so if you have any tips, hidden gems, fun activities or anything other advice you’d like to share with us… we would LOVE to hear from you!
