A few weeks ago, I was delighted to experience the Wedding Fair at Castlemartyr Resort. It was like walking into a wedding wonderland full of ideas, inspiration and beauty. The atmosphere surrounding the day was a very relaxed and creative atmosphere. Everybody looking for ideas to make their day special. Situated in the luxurious 5 star Castlemartyr Resort, it was the perfect place to get your creative juices flowing. Sometime you expect these events to be full of, (can I say the word?) ‘Bridezillas’ but all the hustle and bustle was nowhere to be seen. A day in this location, surrounded by mature trees and gardens, a tranquil swan lake and an 800 year old castle was the perfect backdrop for a great relaxing afternoon to prepare for your big day. The perfect spot to gather your inspiration and creativity for the wedding of your dreams.
Walking towards the entrance we passed the vintage cars, followed by the vintage bicycles and entered the big door to the warm, welcoming and homely reception. A touch of vintage even before you set foot inside the door. We then went for a look around at the treasures spread throughout the wedding gem. If anybody knows me, you can probably guess the first stall I went to admire…. Yes! I was drawn to the amazing designs and presentation cakes from delectable cakes by ‘Ali@Milis’. Heaven on a plate. What I loved about these cakes was the fact that they were a little different from the traditional wedding cakes. The designs and creativity was something very special and unique.
Next stop was the amazing stationary by Stephanie who gave samples of lots of different styles and creations. From photography experts to Hair and Makeup… there was inspiration from every angle for your wedding. You could even get style tips by award winning bridal designer Caroline Atelier and how to select the most important dress. I think I fell in love with so many of her dresses on the day. An angle which I loved was the stall ‘Stella & Dot’ which had accessories go leor for not just the bride but bridesmaids, parents, sisters, daughters… the list is endless. They do accessory parties in your house. I thought it was a great idea to have one with your bridesmaids before the big day. A nice idea to treat the people who are really helping you out on the big day.
The elegantly designed Capel Suite was set to impress. The room itself is just breathtaking with dramatic chandeliers, floor to ceiling windows and white cascading drapes… a little piece of heaven. The room was set up for civil ceremonies and partnerships and allowed the bride and groom to visualise their wedding dreams or even do a trial of walking up the isle!
Taking a step outside into the scenic courtyard is always a must for me when visiting Castlemartyr but as I stepped outside the door I was greeting by a unique wedding transformation for the perfect drinks reception. I could picture guests on a summer’s day, enjoying and chatting on the lawn. The drinks reception is set up in a very unique way with a touch of vintage and trust us the pink lemonade is so tasty! A beautiful treat. A vintage sweet cart was located in the courtyard and blended in perfectly with the surroundings… the smell of jellies as you walked outside was just amazing.
Stepping into the main wedding room was like stepping into a magic fairy-tale. The ballroom was unlike any other in Ireland with it’s giant chandeliers, mood lighting, drapes and attention to detail. It makes for a magical setting for a wedding day. From the perfect table settings, the vintage decor, the unique cocktails, gourmet food and so much more – Castlemartyr Resort go above and beyond for your special day. Perfection for your magical day. Flowers by ‘Wild’ had beautiful table pieces on each table which really stood out. Even the orchestra/band were getting everybody in the wedding mood… they even got a few up to dance.
Wedding nibbles, bubbly and bags of creativity and inspiration floated around the resort for the day. A dreamy day of wedding inspiration… now all I need is a man!!
