As you know, we have spent some time exploring in Scotland. One of the gems we came across was the Dalkeith Country Park. A park only five miles from Edinburgh, it is hard to believe how peaceful and calm the country park is. It allows you to step outside of the city and away from the hustle and bustle and into the country air. You will find lots of walking routes along woodland paths, space to cycle and lots of space for your little ones to run about and be amused. As you stroll beneath the oaks in the rambling Country Park, you can relax and unwind in the peaceful atmosphere. It really is such a wonderful spot for kids to dangle, swing and climb.
The beauty is all around you. There are enough woodland paths to keep you wandering happily for hours. Two rivers run through the country park. This park is a perfect spot to teach your kids to ride their bike. A wide, hill-free, road with no cars in the country.
- If you are very lucky, you might even spot the otters larking about in the rivers.
- You can also bring your bike and cycle in safety for miles.
- If you keep your eyes peeled and bring your binoculars you’ll spot deer, foxes and perhaps even otters.
- This park is a perfect spot to teach your kids to ride their bike.
- Horse riding is also available in the park and managed by the Edinburgh Equestrian Centre. (To book visit their website).
