The Skipper Restaurant!

The best part about our Wild Atlantic Way trip was all the delicious food we got to taste along the way! The Skipper Restaurant is a seafood specialty restaurant located in the heart of Ventry (Ceann Tra) village – a gorgeous Gaeltacht area on the Dingle Peninsula in West Kerry.. we were only delighted to stop there for lunch!

We couldn’t have chosen a better place! Just up from Ventry beach, this restaurant specialises in locally caught seafood.. …with a French twist! A cosy restaurant with a distinct French vibe, and nautical décor I couldn’t wait to sample the menu! We watched on as the busy waiters served customers freshly prepared food to multiple tables.. it was clear the restaurant was a local favourite and extremely popular!

We chose to sit outside to soak up the sunshine and admire the scenery! With a stunning view down onto the beach, and a mountainous back drop that almost looks fake, it was the perfect location to enjoy our meal! We ordered mussels, and crab claws to share, these were succulent and extremely tasty, and upon recommendation from our friendly waiter we paired our meal with a French white wine! #perfection

The menu comes with very reasonable price tags for top notch dishes… so this hidden gem  it is most certainly worth a trip! Hope you enjoy your meal! x
