We recently paid a visit to the Springfort Hall Café in the heart of Mallow town, Co. Cork. A vibrantly painted entrance leads the way to a gorgeous shop with a vintage décor and a quirky vibe!
The menu is varied to suit all tastes from organic smoked salmon, soup, sandwiches, quiche and much more. With freshly homemade food, sandwiches made to each order, and all ingredients carefully selected and sourced from local producers, there is little not to love about this unique hidden gem! Its always a good sign when the locals collect their lunch, breads, and treats from a place… after all they know best!
The outdoor seating area is the perfect place to relax in the sunshine coming into the summer. Here you will also find the pretty décor… we especially loved the paintings on the walls!
If like us, you have a sweet tooth, don’t worry because they have plenty to choose from; Scones, pastries, chocolate cake, biscuit cake… the list is endless!
The café also sells local produce including: Springfort Hall artisan chutneys, preserves, pates, breads, Sundried Tomato Pesto, Homemade Ketchup, Fruit Tomato Chutney, Handmade Chocolate Truffles, Breads & Cakes and much more. (QT tip: They even have a selection of gluten free products). A varied selection of local products you can buy and enjoy at home the perfect way to get a real flavour for the area. Trust us, you will find goodies here you won’t find anywhere else.
Note: They also do an ‘Eat Out’ menu which allows you to take your lunch on the go. If you cant stay and enjoy the meal in the atmosphere of this gem, at least you can take it away and enjoy the food on the go.
Enjoy your trip to this wonderful café! 🙂
