As the time grew closer to continue our trip along the Wild Atlantic Way with EuropCar, we could barely contain our excitement! Having completed the first leg of our trip in series one (Kinsale – Tralee), we were ready to start our roadtrip in Tralee and continue on as far as Galway!
We picked up our beautiful car, and as before the staff at EuropCar were extremely helpful and friendly! With a picnic basket, wetsuits and our cameras packed… it was time to hit the road!
From Tralee we travelled up the North Kerry passing beautiful beaches and villages as we went. When we got to Tarbert we hopped on the car ferry crossing to reach Co. Clare! Such a fun way to travel!
We explored Co. Clare with open eyes admiring the winding strectches of roads and open country side! We even stopped for a few coastal picnics along the way! I particularly liked Lahinch beach – an excellent surfing spot!
With a quick stop to admire the Cliffs of Moher, we drove on through the town of Doolin and into the Burren where it was fascinating to be surrounded by such an unusual landscape! The grey limestone completely surrounded us! We drove down corkscrew hill which was most certainly one to remember! It felt like a rollercoaster ride!
We arrived in Galway – a city bursting to the brim with culture, arts, music and fun! We had a great time wandering through the pretty streets, the Latin Quarter and trying out some local cuisine whilst admiring the sights!
After an abundance of activities, water sports, sight seeing and delicious meals it was time to return home. Not only is the Wild Atlantic Way a stunning stretch of road.. there are so many things to do along it! Look forward to sharing our series two vlogs and blogs with you which are all coming very soon!
