As you know the OnTheQT crew recently set off to travel the Wild Atlantic Way! We had great fun discovering hidden gems, stunning scenery and places off the beaten track that people may not have discovered before! We ate delicious food, tested our water sports skills, hiked over mountains, and much more… however, there is nothing that beats a comfortable bed at a luxurious boutique hotel after a long day of activities!
When we arrived in Waterville deep into South Kerry, we were simply delighted to check into the gorgeous Sea Lodge Hotel. Located literally across the road from the Atlantic Ocean in the centre of Waterville, the hotel looks beautiful from the outside! We entered through blue stained glass doors where we were pleasantly surprised to see the hotel had a classic nautical theme! Giant spacious couches, a quiet library area full to the brim with interesting books, and a lavish reception decorated with fresh flowers awaited us on the other side!
We sipped on delicious strawberry and mint flavoured water as the friendly and welcoming receptionist checked us in to one of the exquisite 12 ensuite bedrooms. As we wandered up the stairs to our room, we stopped multiple times to admire the inspiring quotes hand- painted on the walls! The room itself was gorgeous! It had its own little balcony which overlooked the sea, an oversized beautifully dressed bed, a white fluffy dressing gown with matching slippers… it even had cookies and milk as a bed time snack! #perfection
We headed down to the restaurant for a bite to eat! With an award winning kitchen team I couldn’t wait to sample the menu! I can assure you we weren’t disappointed, so tasty and such reasonable prices! After some live music from a local band, and relaxing in the bar, we headed up to our beds for an excellent nights sleep!
We enjoyed a tasty hot breakfast the following morning whilst looking out at the stunning scenery! I can safely say if you’re looking for an escape from the city, or somewhere to treat yourself on your road trip… I couldn’t recommend the Sea Lodge Hotel more! Hope you enjoy your trip there! x
