Last weekend, we took advantage of the sunshine in Ireland and we went off on an road trip in County Waterford. Ireland you are extra beautiful when the sun shines! It is amazing the gems you can stumble upon on your doorstep. The sun was shining and we decided to take the signpost toward the Comeragh Mountains. A beautiful scenic drive made even more beautiful by the sunshine glistening on the mountains. Mahon Falls is an 80m waterfall situated in the Comeragh Mountains near Lemybrien, County Waterford.
We pulled up to park in the car park close by and saw lots of people heading off down the path with picnic baskets. We decided to go check it out for ourselves. The walk to the falls is not too strenuous and an extremely pretty with breathtaking views surrounding you. As you walk towards the falls, you stumble upon sheep or goats grazing along the mountain. When we got to the falls, it was just picture perfect. People sitting down enjoying a picnic, walking around the falls and just taking in the stunning views.
If you are looking for a road trip this summer in Ireland, I would highly recommend Mahon Falls and the Comeragh Mountain drive.
