John Saul Picnic & Vintage Fair at Castlemartyr Resort

Blogger: Stephanie Lynch

Last Monday we were delighted to experience the John Saul Picnic & Vintage Fair at Castlemartyr Resort. A great day out for all vintage lovers and a great family day out with lots to do throughout the day including threshing, field games, pottery, amusements and lots lots more. Our favourite had to be the teddy bear hospital where your little ones could bring their teddy bears to get seen by the nurse. Any stitches needed on your teddy bear were done by the nurse and the teddys were happy out after being seen by the nurse.

The day started off with a parade of horses and carriages entering the main entrance of Castlemartyr Resort. Each carriage had ladies dressed in amazing Victorian outfits. One as amazing as the next.

For lunch time, you were spoiled for choice with all different food stalls to tickle your taste buds. Beautiful stalls with tasty foods. You could bring your own picnic too and it was great to see families enjoying their picnics on the grass.

One of our favourite areas were the stalls at the fair. With clothes, jewellery, music and much much more. We could have spent all day admiring all the amazing gems at the stalls.

Now there really is something for everyone at the fair. Vintage cars were very popular throughout the day. We fell in love with a few and we even think one should be our QT car. It was great to see such a variety of cars. One of our favourite memories was seeing an older man and his grandson come into Castlemartyr resort in a vintage car. I dont know who looked more proud, the grandfather or the grandson. They made memories together that day to last a lifetime.

A great day for all and we hope you enjoy our video as it sums up the experience, atmosphere and fun.
