Jamie’s Italian in Edinburgh

Blogger: Stephanie Lynch

As you have probably guessed by now, we have a little grá(Irish for love) for Italian food. While exploring during the day, we stumbled upon a Jamie Oliver restaurant so being big Jamie Oliver fans, we decided to book a table to treat ourselves that night.

The restaurant is based in the former supper halls of the Assembly Rooms on George Street. It looked very elegant with the elegant ceilings, scarlet walls, chandeliers and red velvet chairs. A perfect spot for a special night out. Even though it was quiet elegantly in decor, we found the restaurant to be very relaxed and casual.

The food was amazing, the fresh pasta and unique dishes to the menu made it a delirious experience. We found it great as one of us had an allergy to onion and we were so grateful at the thought and consideration the chefs went to to prepare a unique dish which allowed us to feel happy and confident in the cooking. The pasta was fresh, tasty and light which made the perfect dish. We also tried the Italian burger which was done to perfect, tasty and very filling.

We also had to try the brownie with Carmel popcorn – it was delicious and the perfect way to end the night for our little sweet tooth!!
