The last of our Florida blogs and vlogs today! Introducing Florida part 5… exploring St. Petersburg, falling in love with Madeira Beach and ending the Florida adventure with the locals!! Firstly, we went on a adventure to St. Petersburg. It is about a 50 minute drive from our house.
After a quick stop in Dunkin’ Donuts(It had to be done!!), we stumbled upon a beautiful beach called ‘Madeira Beach’.
We had left it to late afternoon to go to the beach as it was so hot. It’s always nice to go to the beach around 6pm for the evening sun, followed by the sunset. We spent hours upon hours in the water… it almost feels like walking into a warm bath! Nothing beats swimming as the sun is setting… I love Florida sunsets so much.
We then went for one last swim after packing up and headed to a local place here called ‘The Beer Shed’ for a drink. This is a local spot that the people we did the home exchange with recommended. We were delighted to get to know the locals a little. If only we went here on day 1! We enjoyed our evening on the water and chatted to lovely people from Florida. It’s always great to get a feel for a place and also to get to know the locals a little. A spot with a relaxed vibe and friendly people. What more could you want?
