Dingle Food Festival 2015

Blogger: Lauren Lucy Crowley

The Dingle peninsula is well known for its stunning coastline, beautiful beaches, and Fungi the friendly dolphin… did you know it is also host to one of Irelands most delicious food festivals? Held on the first weekend of October each year, the Dingle food festival is never to be missed again!

The entire town is transformed for the weekend, with hundreds of food vendors lining the streets. There is also a delicious taste trail including almost 60 outlets sampling local cuisine – pubs, art galleries, shops and restaurants… you name it they’re all involved!

The festival showcases everything from locally caught fresh seafood, to Kangaroo, and exotic curries… if you’re more of a sweet kind of person, you’ll be spoilt for choice between homemade cupcakes, marshmallow crepes, luxurious cheese cakes,  chocolate fondues and everything else you could possibly imagine in between. For when you get thirsty there is a wide selection of rich coffees, herbal teas, colourful lemonades, mulled cider, wines and craft beers to complement your favourite dish!

With an array of cooking demonstrations, workshops, guided food tours, and fantastic street entertainment, it really is an excellent day out for all the family!

Be sure to mark it in your diary for October 2016! See you there x
