On The QT

Day Three: OnTheQT Wild Atlantic Way Road trip!

Here at OnTheQT we love nothing more than a fun road trip… and so we could barely contain our excitement as our trip along the Wild Atlantic Way approached!  Although it’s great fun to hop on a plane and explore exotic places half way across the world… more often than not we forget to explore what’s right in front of us! Over five days we travelled the first section of the 2,500km route along the Western seaboard! It was simply spectacular! We’ve put together our action packed itinerary for each day so you can follow in our footsteps!

Star Outdoors:  Our first stop was a trip to Star Outdoors in Kenmare! Banana boating, pedal boating, wake boarding, water trampolining.. you name it they’ve got it! You’ll be sure to have an adventurous time on the water! We were petrified on the banana boat, we then jumped in off the trampoline for a  refreshing swim before hopping on a pedal boat back to shore! The perfect start to our day!  (www.stardoors.ie)

Strawberry Fields Pancake Cottage: We drove over Molls Gap and with our appetites building we decided to take ta pit stop at the absolutely amazing Strawberry Fields Pancake cottage… whether you prefer sweet or savoury, these tasty dishes will exceed all your expectations! Simply amazing! We will most certainly be returning! (www.strawberryfield-ireland.com)

Sunfish Explorer:
Heading further into South Kerry we arrived in Sneem where we  tried out motorised kayaking at sunfish explorer. With only two companies of this kind in the entire world, it was most certainly a unique experience exploring the nearby islands! (www.sunfishexplorer.com)

Derrynane Sea Sports: We arrived in Derrynane where we couldn’t wait to take to the water and go sailing! It was the perfect evening for it! We also tried out some paddle -boarding as the sun set around us! With a range of different water sports to choose from you’ll be sure to find something you like! (www.derrynaneseasports.com)

Sea Lodge Hotel, Waterville: Ready for bed after our jam- packed day we were delighted to arrive at the luxurious sea-lodge hotel in Waterville! Right on the water with a naval theme throughout the hotel, it was the perfect place to relax and unwind for the evening! We enjoyed a delicious meal at the bar restaurant whilst listening to some excellent local music! #perfection (www.sealodgewaterville.ie)
