Day 33 – Grouse Mountain

Blogger: Stephanie Lynch

Today was a day full of adventure as we made our way to the top peak in Vancouver, up Grouse Mountain. So we arrived at the bottom of the mountain and got a cable car to the top(you can also hike it which takes an hour or two). Stunning views all around as we went up the mountain and the views from the top were just spectacular.

Grouse Mountain exceeds 4,000 feet in altitude at its peak and is a major ski area in the winter months. It overlooks greater Vancouver and in the summer is home to lumberjack shows, birds of prey wildlife demonstrations, a scenic chairlift, mountaintop theatre,  hiking trail, helicopter sightseeing and much more. We enjoyed a lovely lunch overlooking the breathtaking view before heading to enjoy some shows such as the Lumberjack Show(This is a must when visiting as it is so funny!).

After the shows we went even further up the mountain on a chair lift(similar to the ski lifts). The views were getting better and better as we went further up. At the top, we went up into a wind turbine with 360 degree views all around. Unbelievable. What an experience. A once in a lifetime opportunity.

We then enjoyed a BBQ with the views before heading back down the mountain to reality again. There are lots of other activities to do up on Grouse mountain; zip lining, helicopter rides, The Bee Hive Centre, Mountain Disc Golf , Paragliding, Eco Walks, and much more. There is so much to do up there, you will want the full day!!

A beautiful day and unbelievable experience… a must when visiting Vancouver. Looking forward to another day of exploration tomorrow in Vancouver.

Over and out for now from Vancouver,

Steph
