Early morning start once again today for our road trip to Oregon House, California. I must say the West Coast of America is so different to the East Coast and it really is a great experience to get to see and explore both. And so (after some American pancakes), the road trip which is very ‘OnTheQT’ began. Oregon House is an area in Yuba County, California. It is located 22 miles northeast of Marysville, north of Sacramento.
The further away from Sacramento we went became more and more remote we got. Bringing us to some amazing hidden and picturesque scenery. Business connections took us to this gem and we found it such an adventure going off the beaten track and exploring. We stopped for fruit from a local farmer and we continued on our way(stopping a little to take some pictures and video of the amazing views).
We arrived and we were greeted warmly by our friends. After a little bit of work, we ventured to our home for the night. We were blown away when we saw the house we were staying in(which is up on Air B&B here). It honestly was the nicest house I was ever in… if I could just build that house at home, I would be over the moon. We relaxed a little in the house before going our for dinner with our friends at their beautiful house in the woods.
I always think the highlight of trips are when you get to know the locals and begin to feel like one of the locals. We really got a feel for Oregon House through the eyes of the locals and we discovered some of the many hidden gems of Oregon House.
The countryside and wildlife is something I will never forget. Thankfully we just saw some lovely deer looking in the window at us and not any snakes and bears(Maybe we will see some bears in Vancouver!!).
Oregon House… an experience I will never forget with amazing people.
Over and Out for now From Oregon House,
