On The QT

Day 21 – Chicago

Blogger: Stephanie Lynch

Today we woke in the windy city of Chicago at about 7am(the time difference is making us real early birds!!).  We decided to go out for an early morning walk around the city and watch the city come to life. On the way back to the hotel, we stopped off for some American pancakes to set us up for a day of adventures.

First up on the adventure list today was to head to the Skydeck(Willis Tower) on Jackson Boulevard. A local told us that this was the best one to go to(there are two similar buildings you can go to the top of for views).  We reached a 103 floors high, 1353 feet with views of 50 miles all around and spectacular spanning up to four states. The views were spectacular(a little foggy but still amazing).

There are windows all around for viewing, then 4 glass window viewing centres (you wouldn’t want to be afraid of heights). Step outside the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. At 1,353 feet in the air, the Ledge’s glass boxes extend out 4.3 feet from the Skydeck.

We then finished the day with the Riverwalk and enjoyed the views all around. The Chicago Riverwalk is an pedestrian waterfront located downtown on the south bank of the Chicago River.  It spans from Lake Shore Drive to Franklin Street. Full of restaurants, cool seating, boat rentals, cruises, biking and lots of other activities.

Night fell so we went out for dinner and of course we fell onto Michigan Avenue which is the main shopping area(a girl has to shop!!). Tired feet after a day 2 of adventures in Chicago so we headed back to the hotel for a good nights rest ahead of tomorrows adventures.

Over and Out for now from Chicago,

Steph
