Here at OnTheQT, we love having team meetings in new, quirky places. The Bookshelf Coffee House in Cork was recommended to us so we decided to have a catch-up meeting there. It has now turned into one of our favourite coffee shops in Cork city. Located in an old library, its just bursting with character. As you walk through the entrance, which features remain in the style of the old library, you notice the beautiful interior straight away. The quirky, comfortable, casual interior with a hint of vintage to the design. Just perfect for a little escape from the hustle and bustle of the outside world.
We love our team catch-ups and sometimes they could go on for hours, we just love chatting all about adventures and travels… who doesn’t? We drank lots of tea and coffee and we treated ourselves to lovely raspberry scones. The raspberry scones were beautiful – tasty, fresh and very different. Possibly the best scones in Cork…yes we said it! We loved them.
There is also a small area upstairs which looks great for meetings like ours. A little featured we loved in the café were the chairs near the window. Sometimes it’s nice to just sit down and watch the world go by. These perfect chairs by the window, looking onto South Mall, which allows you to sit back, relax with a coffee and watch the world go by.
Overall, we loved the vibe in the place. A very comfortable and relaxed experience where you can come and enjoy some home baking and great coffee with friends. What more could you want… perfection!
Good friends + good coffee + good staff + good food + good vibe = great café.
