On The QT

Shannon Ferries!

Here at OnTheQT we always love to do things a little differently! This was no different whilst recently travelling along the Wild Atlantic Way! Of course we could have driven from Kerry to Clare along the WAW route… but why drive when you could get the ferry with Shannon Ferries and enjoy a wonderful crossing across the Atlantic Ocean!

We drove along beautiful country roads in Co. Kerry before reaching the Ferry Terminal in Tarbert! A quaint little town, bursting with lunch I have no doubt there was somewhere nice to make a pit stop for lunch!

We drove onto the ferry guided by one of the friendly stewards, it was a quick and easy process! We were out of the car admiring the views in no time at all! There is a cute sweet shop on board, bathroom facilities and idyllic views out into the Atlantic Ocean! We were enjoying ourselves so much, we almost wished the trip took longer than 20 minutes to make the crossing!

If you’re travelling along the Wild Atlantic Way, catching the Ferry is the perfect way to reach Co. Clare from Kerry, gives the driver a chance to stretch their legs… and if you’re lucky you may even catch a glimpse of a dolphin on a Summers day!

With frequent services, reasonable prices, and a very enjoyable experience, it’s a no brainer to catch the Ferry to Co. Clare! Hope you enjoy the experience as much as we did! x
