As many of you know, we are off on a 6 week adventure around the USA and Canada. Our plan is Florida – Boston – Cape Cod – Chicago – Sacramento – San Francisco and ending up in the beautiful Vancouver. A once in a lifetime adventure…
The day finally arrived for us to head off on our 6 week adventure. We left Cork in the early hours of the morning and headed for Dublin. We are doing a home exchange in Florida and Vancouver. We actually were very lucky to be able to meet the people we are exchanging with in Florida in Dublin airport. They flew in, we gave them our car and had a little chat with them. We watched them as they drove off to our house in our car and waved goodbye. We flew from Dublin to London(1 hour) and then from London to Tampa, Florida(9 and a half hours). We were traveling for close to 20 hours in total with a small delay in London but it was worth it when we reached the sunshine paradise. We picked up their car in the airport in Florida and went to their house. What a great way to travel. We arrived in sunny Florida and enjoyed a refreshing dip in the pool before some well needed rest ahead of our first day of adventures tomorrow…
Trip Information: We are doing a home exchange with HomeExchange.com while in Florida and also in Vancouver. We exchange homes and cars which really cuts down a lot of the cost. It is a great way to explore and see the world. We love home exchanges as they allow you to get a real taste of the locations with lots of local tips along the way. You meet local people and discover places you would never have seen before. Your exchange can be anything you want it to be. Plan it on your time, travel where you want, on your schedule. Travel your way and live like a local. The house we are staying with in Tampa Florida is a beautiful home with a swimming pool and Jacuzzi. In Vancouver, the house is looking our over the harbour with all the boats coming in. Just beautiful spots.
