Ladys Fitzgerald’s Afternoon Tea

OnTheQT spent a few days down in Castlemartry recently filming a unique QT video to launch their Ladys Fitzgerald’s Afternoon Tea. We can honestly say it was one of our favourite shoots to date – the location, the feeling of a bygone era, the friendly staff, decor and mostly importantly the delicious food. We loved creating the story of Afternoon Tea to showcase the experience given by Castlemartyr Resort for Ladys Fitzgerald’s Afternoon Tea.

We can all be a little guilty of getting caught up in everyday life but we can assure you that as soon as you step inside the gates of Castlemartyr Resort, it is almost as if time just stops, any worries are left at the door. Ladys Fitzgerald’s Afternoon Tea is a sweet and savory indulgence, giving you a vision of tea time long ago. Afternoon Tea is served in the luxurious Bell Tower on a daily basis from 1.30. (Monday to Sunday) including something sweet to start, sandwiches, scones, cakes and as much tea as you can drink from their wide selection of tea, which of course includes Barry’s Classic Blend loose leaf tea(Us Irish always have and always will love our Barry’s tea!).

At Castlemartyr, Afternoon Tea is all about the experience and like stepping back in time as soon as you enter the door. As you enter the Bell Tower, you are shown to your table by their team of waiters dressed in smart cream jackets in keeping with a bygone era. Firstly, a selection of tea leafs come out and you have time to smell the different teas and decide on the perfect tea for you. Your tea is then brewed and you can enjoy a five star treatment with service.

Next comes a starter(yes a starter for afternoon tea… how amazing is that?) with a delicious blend of sweetness, softness and a little bite of crunch.

Afternoon Tea of sandwiches, scones and something sweet is served for all to enjoy. A platter of perfection in both style and taste. It truly is the ultimate indulgence.

For a little extra(€11 – €14 extra) you can treat yourself to some Bubbles and Cocktails (go on, you deserved it)! A great way to toast a celebration, life and friendships. Some great selections of cocktails are available to choose from such as Petal & Cucumber, Velvet Slipper and Pimms Classic.

One of our favourite parts of the experience was smelling the tea leafs(have a look at our video to see us experience it), along with the delicious treats made to perfection by their amazing, talented chef. The dining room is styled by the one and only Franc and is designed to bring you back to a bygone era. An experience you will never forget… trust us!
