I was looking for something unique to give my husband as a 50th birthday present. He loves the sea and is fascinated with Lighthouses. I had heard about the Landmark Trust and discovered they rent out Lighthouses for self catering!! It was on the Antrim Coast and called the Blackhead Lighthouse. It was one of the most relaxing places I have ever been. There are no TVs and random internet access so one is forced to chill out. We walked down the steps from the lighthouse and along the path to the nearby quaint village. At night we could see 4 other lighthouses across the bay even as far as Scotland!
QT Tips: Bring lots of food as you are a bit of a drive from a shop so bring your favourite food to make what you want. Visit the Victorian tea rooms in Whitehead village. It is like going back in time ….
5 words to describe the gem: Peaceful * Stunning * Authentic * Comfortable * Exciting
Favourite Thing: How different it was from anywhere I have stayed. We fished off the rocks below the Lighthouse.
