As you all know recently we went on a road trip in California and stopped off in Sacramento. While in Sacramento, we decided to explore Old town Sacramento. It was by far, one of the most amazing experiences we had in California. It was like entering a wild wild west movie. Almost like going back in time with the place full of history and charm. Lots of exciting gift shops and gems lie within the wooden structures of the town. A charming place to visit.
In the town lies an old train and railway museum which is well worth a visit. It covers the history of the building of the railroads in the USA – It was some achievement. Very interesting. There is an actual steam engine which runs in the summer months for a couple of miles on a existing track and it is a must if you are in town.
We went for dinner in Old Sacramento in a local restaurant called Rio City Café. You know a spot is good when you see the locals going to the place. The place was very popular for its BBQ ribs, pork, steaks and burgers. We enjoyed the BBQ ribs and a burger and the flavors were divine. Why not explore this town and fell like you have set food on a movie set. Lights, Camera… Action!
