Island Hopping in Croatia: Soline

Blogger: Stephanie Lynch

Our fifth overnight stop while island hopping in Croatia was a hidden treasure, Soline. Island hopping in Croatia brought us to places you could only dream of, some well know and some local treasures. Soline was by far the best treasure we found on our trip. It was an island we decided to take a chance with and it allowed us to discover it’s beauty. It was the secret gem we came across that we couldn’t stop talking about for the rest of the holiday.

Soline a small island with no way to port alongside so we anchored in the secluded bay of the island. We enjoyed a lovely swim off the boat in the peace and tranquility. During a swim, a local came to our boat and asked if we wanted to book in for dinner so we booked a time for dinner in the only restaurant on the island. We were getting the real local feel. We got ready for dinner and took the dinghy and water taxi into shore. We had a beautiful dinner with a wide variety of choices available from meats, pastas, fish and much more. It was delicious. We made our way back to the boat and spent the night playing cards and chatting as a crew.

The following morning we went in for breakfast and had lovely eggs, ham and fresh orange juice. It was so beautiful that a lot of us enjoyed a swim back out to the boat in the warm, turquoise water. A perfect start to a perfect day. Soline was by far one of our favourite islands, a island we stumbled upon but an island we will never forget. A real hidden QT treasure.
