The best thing about travelling the Wild Atlantic Way is that you get to try out things you’d never usually do! I have always wanted to try out having a seaweed bath, and so couldn’t wait to visit Collins Seaweed Bath on Ladies Strand just outside Ballybunnion!
Set in the most idyllic of locations, literally right on the beach it is easy to see why this wonderfully run establishment has stood the test f time, they’ve been around over 85 years and are now run by the 4th generation of family members!
The wrack is gathered from the beach, rinsed in cold water and voila. Nothing at all is added. Heated seawater is simply added to the baths for you to sit back, relax and said goodbye to your aches and pains!
The baths are an excellent way to ease aches and pains and boost your general wellbeing as the hot water stimulates the release of concentrated iodine from the seaweed. This acts as a natural antiseptic, whilst its oils moisturise your skin leaving a tingling freshness!
The establishment is efficiently run, with reasonable prices, friendly staff and a very relaxing atmosphere!
I most certainly felt rejuvenated, relaxed and moisturised afterwards! I can see why people have been returning for decade! I highly recommend a trip here! x
