As you may know, I recently paid a visit to one of my favourite places in the world…Cape Cod. During my visit, my lovely family brought me to a new breakfast spot which is one of their favourites spots called Café Chew. Breakfast is my favourite meal to eat out for so I was very excited to taste the delights in Café Chew. The cafe is located in Sandwich at 4 Merchants Road, (just off Route 6A behind the Sandwich Post Office) and is run by Bob and Tobin who welcomed us with open arms.
Café Chew was voted best coffee, best breakfast, best lunch and the best sandwich spot by their customers… when we saw this, we knew we were in for a treat. The choice on the menu was unbelievable – from pancakes, french toast, Omelets, Granola, Eggs, Bacon and so much more. I thought their breakfast sandwiches were simply brilliant – inspired by all different places. The Canadian(Two scambled farm fresh eggs, Canadian bacon, Vermont cheddar and sliced tomato on sour dough toast), The french(Two scrambled farm fresh eggs with Brie cheese, fresh spinach and sliced tomato in a ciabatta roll), The German(Two scrambled farm fresh eggs topped with melted Gruyere cheese and ham in a Bavarian pretzel roll), The Italian(Two fried farm fresh eggs topped with caramelized onion, fire-roasted red pepper puree and fresh mozzarella in a teller roll) and lots more. A very creative and very tasty menu.
I always like to see what the locals are ordering so when my Uncle ordered the french toast and bacon… I copied him! I also ordered a nice cuppa tea with it(I am Irish after all!) I never had French toast before so I didn’t know what to expect but it exceeded my expectations… it was delicious. It’s always good to try new things and get the advice from the locals… my Uncle was right with his local knowledge! The french toast and bacon won my heart! Already looking forward to my next visit to Cape Cod and of course my breakfast of French toast in Café Chew.
After breakfast, We grabbed a coffee to go and went onto to visit some of our favourite spots near Sandwich… The Cape in Fall is simply beautiful! Blog posts of all of our favourite spots from our USA trip coming very soon so keep tuned.
